Sky News Probe Exposes Postal Vote Flaws
Sky News : Sky News Probe Exposes Postal Vote Flaws
As millions vote by post in the General Election, correspondent Stuart Ramsay managed to obtain multiple votes in two constituencies.
He began by downloading internet application forms for postal voting from the Electoral Commission's website.
No forms of identity were submitted, nor was any permission obtained from any voters.
Before completing the forms, a number of obviously empty or derelict properties were identified.
These properties were then referenced on the Electoral Roll.
In every case, voters were still shown as being registered at the properties, even though they clearly no longer lived there.
The postal vote application forms were then completed and submitted with a request to send the ballot papers to a different address.
Multiple ballot papers were applied for and successfully received in the constituencies of Edgbaston and Warley.
More to add to the pile. (sigh)
